BUILDING WIRE / JACKETING EXTRUSION LINE
Building Wire Jacketing Extrusion Line is a high-precision industrial equipment setup designed to apply an insulating or sheathing layer—typically PVC, XLPE, or LSZH—over solid or stranded copper/aluminum conductors. It is commonly used for producing building wires, such as THHN, THWN, NYA, NYY, and house wiring cables.

2. Typical Line Configuration
1.Pay-off Stand
- Holds the bare conductor (usually copper or aluminum).
- Options: Motorized or dancer-controlled.
2.Preheater / Annealer (optional)
- Heats conductor before extrusion to improve bonding and elongation.
3.Extruder Group
- Main Extruder: Applies the insulation or jacket layer.
- Screw Size: Often 45mm to 90mm depending on cable size.
- Materials: PVC, PE, XLPE, LSZH.
- Co-Extruder (if needed): For two-layer constructions (e.g., insulation + color skin).
4.Crosshead (Die Head)
- Ensures uniform extrusion around the conductor.
- Center-adjustable for high concentricity.
5.Cooling Trough (Water Bath)
- Cools and solidifies the extruded layer.
- Length: Usually 6–12 meters.
6.Diameter Gauge (OD Scanner) (optional but recommended)
- Non-contact laser gauge for real-time diameter monitoring and quality control.
7.Spark Tester
- High-voltage test to detect insulation defects.
8.Capstan (Haul-Off)
- Pulls the cable through the line at controlled speed.
- Synchronization with extruder is essential for uniform thickness.
9.Take-up / Coiler
- Rewinds the finished cable into drums, reels, or coils.
