Double-Sided Aluminum Foil Composite Material (AL + PET + AL)
This is a three-layer laminated structure, where a PET film is sandwiched between two layers of aluminum foil.
The layers are bonded together using adhesive or extrusion lamination techniques.
Dual-Layer EMI/RFI Shielding: Both sides of aluminum provide excellent protection against electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference.
Dimensional Stability: PET core ensures tensile strength and prevents elongation or breakage during cable twisting or extrusion.
Moisture and Corrosion Resistance: Effective barrier against water vapor, chemical corrosion, and oxidation.
Thermal Stability: Withstands high temperatures typically encountered during cable production.
Lightweight and Flexible: Easy to wrap, slit, and apply around cable cores.
2. Typical Applications in Cable Industry:
LAN & Ethernet Cables (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat7): Used as a shielding layer for noise reduction.
Coaxial Cables: For TV, satellite, and broadband signal protection.
Instrumentation & Control Cables: EMI shielding for data integrity in industrial environments.
Automotive and EV Cables: Used in high-frequency cable shielding.
Communication & Signal Cables: Prevents signal loss and external interference.
3. Application
Aluminum polyester tape is used in environments with magnetic fields but minimal electromagnetic interference or static discharge. It is commonly applied in the shielding of communication cables, data cables, coaxial cables, internet cables, and signal cables. When combined with appropriate coatings, it can be utilized for both assembly-level shielding and grounding applications after being cut to size.
4. Electrical Characteristics
This material is primarily designed to provide protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI), particularly effective in the 1–100 MHz frequency range. When used with Mylar foil, it can achieve shielding attenuation levels of up to 70 dB.
